NUCLEUS GYM & GOLF COURSE RULES & REGULATIONS

 

Nucleus Gym and Golf Course

All gym facilities are located on the first floor.

 

OPENING TIMES:

The gym facilities are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

The onsite Park Team are available onsite Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm with site Security available 24 hour a day, 7 days a week.

 

  1. GYM & BOOKINGS & CANCELLATION:

We have the ability to introduce gym bookings if these are required for any reason. This allows us to limit numbers if required or during any busy hours or during any Covid 19 restrictions.

 

  1. IN ORDER TO GAIN ACCESS:

Gym video inductions are compulsory to be able to gain access to the gym please familiarise yourselves with the gym equipment via the gym video induction before you use it and learn how to train safely,

Each resident will need to accept the terms of the Health Commitment Statement and watch the gym video induction and tick to say you have watched the induction. This will automatically send an email to the Park Team, security and to yourself. .

Card access will only be programmed via the onsite staff after the successful completion our online Health Commitment Statement and the gym video induction. You should NOT be in the gym if you have failed to do this. Only authorised persons & current residents who have been inducted are permitted access to the gym facilities. An automated email will be sent to you and the onsite staff confirming you have completed the gym video induction. You must wait to the end of the video and tick the box to say you have watched the video in order to generate this email.

All the facilities are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Educated Body and Chesterford Research Park are not responsible for any pieces of equipment, facilities or services that may be temporarily unavailable, due to another member using them or the facility being utilised at maximum capacity or any other issue.

 

  1. CLOSING OF THE FACILITIES:

The Park team may, at times, withdraw all or some of its facilities for certain periods of time to carry out cleaning, repairs, alterations, maintenance, security works, staff training or for reasons that are beyond their control.

 

  1. SAFETY & SIGNAGE:

In the interests of all persons safety when using the Nucleus Gym any person visiting or otherwise being on the premises must pay particular attention to all onsite notices and signs within each area of the facility relating to guidance and health and safety matters and all the Rules and Regulations.

Please always adhere to all Rules and Regulations of use as outlined, both during your video induction and as stated in the wall mounted signage. Failure to do so may result in you not being able to use the facilities for a period of time. If you do not understand a notice or sign, please ask one of the onsite Park team.

If at any time you are unsure of how to use any of the equipment, you should contact the Park team to request assistance before using the facilities unsupervised.

In the interests of safety and if you are using the facilities unaccompanied, we recommend that you let another person you know, know when you are using the Nucleus gym.

 

  1. CCTV:

Please note CCTV is in operation throughout the Nucleus gym.

The CCTV systems are not routinely or constantly monitored, they are for use as a passive surveillance tool. CCTV is installed for your own safety and for the purposes of crime prevention and detection. The live stream of the CCTV footage can only be viewed by Dardan Security, Cushman & Wakefield and Educated Body.

The CCTV recordings will only be reviewed and downloaded in the event of an incident or a claim (e.g., an accident, theft or allegations of abusive conduct). In such instances, the CCTV recordings may be viewed and shared with law enforcement agents.

 

  1. EMERGENCY ALARMS:

Are located throughout the Nucleus gym.

To call for assistance for yourself or someone else who needs help please push the emergency panic button once.

If another person is unwell or needs help, please press the emergency panic alarm before attempting to assist them.

A qualified First Aider is available during open hours of the Gym.

There are emergency panic alarms within the following areas:

  1. YOUR HEALTH:

If you feel unwell, dizzy or faint or have chest pain; stop exercising or using the facilities immediately and press the emergency alarm button or upon leaving the facilities seek medical assistance.

If another person is unwell or needs help, please press the alarm before attempting to assist them.

 

  1. RULES AND REGULATIONS OF GYM & STUDIO USE:

Please pay attention to the onsite more in-depth operational and safety signage in the gym.

Under 18 year old persons cannot use or enter the gym or studio facilities.

Guests are not permitted at any time.

If you are unsure of how to use the equipment, please speak to a member of the onsite Park team for assistance or book to review the video induction before using any of the equipment.

We may refuse you access if we consider yours or others health to be at risk by using these facilities. Do not exercise  if you have a contagious illness.

Do not use the gym while under the influence of alcohol or drugs or if you are taking any medication or other substances which may affect your ability to exercise safely or use any of the facilities safely.

Smoking and Vaping are NOT permitted. Food consumption is NOT permitted. Alcohol consumption is NOT permitted

There will be no changing room access between 8pm – 6am in the gym, so please come wearing your workout kit.

Appropriate gym wear is mandatory when using the facility.

Do not wear outdoor shoes in the gym, wear clean trainers always. Always wear clean trainers do not have bare feet at any time.

Always use a sweat towel when using the gym equipment and use anti-bacterial spray before and after using the equipment.

Be considerate to fellow residents and use one piece of equipment at a time. During peak times please be considerate to fellow residents and limit your use of cardio machines to 20 minutes when required.

When exercising or using the facilities please ensure you hydrate regularly. There’s a water station in the gym  for topping up your water bottle – please remember to bring your own bottle so you can stay hydrated.

If you spill anything, please ensure you immediately wipe up using the paper towels provided.
Do not take photographs anywhere within the facilities.

Mobile phones should be stored away safely and only used in an emergency unless being used to access the aps on the gym equipment. Do not speak on your mobile phone when in the facilities.

Please notify a member of the Park team if equipment appears to be faulty – do not use or attempt to fix it.

Only use the equipment as shown and explained in the diagrams and during your induction. Using it in any other way can cause serious injury.

For safety reasons, free weights must only be used in the designated area and put back on the weights-rack after use.

You must NOT:

  • Remove any gym equipment from the gym
  • Take equipment from one gym floor to another
  • For your own safety, you must not use any equipment which is marked as out of use
  • Bring crockery, glass or food at any time into the gym.

Always replace all equipment after use.

Keep your fingers away from all internal moving parts of the equipment and do not put your fingers in-between the plates.

No pets, other than guide dogs, are permitted to be onsite.

  1. EQUIPMENT FAULT REPORTING:

Fault Reporting: Please always report any facility faults to the onsite Park team soon as possible. Do not attempt to fix a fault.

  1. < GROUP EXERCISE STUDIO>:

Should you be training in the studio and a scheduled live class is due to start, the class will have priority and you will be asked to leave the studio if you are not booked into the class.

Classes are available to be booked direct with the class trainers. Information on this is located on the parks website, on a first come first served basis, please always adhere to the class cancellation policy.

 

  1. BEHAVIOUR:

When using the facilities, please behave appropriately, respectfully and politely at all times.

Please always consider all other residents and employees. We reserve the right to prevent you entering the facilities or ask you to leave if we believe that your behaviour is not appropriate.

Inappropriate behaviour may result with you being barred from the facilities for a period of time or permanently. The Park team have authority to instruct anyone so affected by any of the above, to leave the facility.

 

  1. POLICIES:

12.1 GUEST POLICY:

Guests are not allowed at any time.

Failure to adhere to this policy may result in you and your guests being asked to leave the facility.

12.2 CHILD POLICY & AGE USE:

 

THE GYM

Persons under 18 years old cannot use or enter the gym at any time.


  1. PERSONAL PROPERTY:

You bring all personal belongings at your own risk.

Chesterford Park (General Partner) Limited, Aviva Investors, Cushman & Wakefield Debenham Tie Leung Limited and Educated Body, take no responsibility for your belongings whilst on site.

We recommend that you do not bring valuable items to the Nucleus gym.

Any lost property will be kept for one month after which it will be disposed of if not collected.

Do not leave items in lockers overnight.

Lockers are opened every evening and contents removed.

 

  1. FIRE ALARM

Fire exits are clearly marked throughout the gym and must not be interfered with.

Please do not obstruct or leave open any fire door exits.

In the event of an emergency (fire or otherwise), you will be asked to leave the facility by a member of Park Staff. Please leave using the nearest fire exit door, do not panic, do not stop to collect personal belongings or change clothes. Make your way immediately to the fire assembly point.

 

  1. FIRE EVACUATION POINT

The evacuation point for Nucleus gym is in the car park outside the property.

In the event you need to raise the fire emergency, break the glass at the call point, these are located at each fire exit of the Nucleus gym.

 

  1. ACCESSIBLE USERS

We request that you notify Park security ahead of arrival at the facility in case of an emergency or in the case that you may require assistance.

 

All carers will be required to complete an induction and to sign a Health Commitment Statement and Assumption of Risk and watch the gym video induction.

 

  1. ACCIDENT REPORTING

If you have an accident, please report this immediately to a member of the Park team.

 

  1. GOLF COURSE

 

When using the golf course, ensure you have your mobile phone with you and the park security number saved in your contacts. In an emergency contact security and consider calling 999.

The golf course is open Monday to Friday from dawn to dusk between April and October, weather dependent.

Any children under 16 are to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Members can bring up to a maximum of 2 guests.

Players are to provide their own golfing equipment.

Suitable flat footwear is to be worn on the greens and tees.

The course is to be played in numeric order from hole 1 to 7.

Players are to Tee off from behind the yellow or red markers

Ensure no one is standing close by or in a position to be hit by a club, ball, stones, pebbles, or twigs when you are making a stroke or swing.

If a player plays a ball in a direction where there is a danger of hitting someone, they should shout fore.

No player should play until the party in front is out of range

There should be only one group or person at each hole.

Players are to play without delay or stand aside to let others through.

Players should not stand close to or directly behind the ball, or the hole when another player is playing.

Any turf cut or displaced is to be replaced at once and pressed down.

Pitch marks made on the putting green are to be repaired immediately.

Do not select or stay on specific tees or greens as this causes additional wear and tear.

In cases of bad weather, the course may be closed without notice.

 

  1. OTHER

Educated Body and Chesterford Research Park reserve the right to vary, revoke or add to these rules and regulations from time to time in its absolute discretion.
